Energy efficiency

One way to reduce energy costs for medium and low voltage distribution is by using the Eaton M2L substation. The power losses in the longer medium voltage cables are only a fraction of the losses in low voltage cables or busbar systems. Use of the M2L substation considerably lowers the operating losses of the electrical installation and reduces costs.

Eaton UPSs are also very efficient even at sub-optimal loading levels. Their energy-efficient technologies, such as Energy Saver System technology (ESS) and Variable Module Management Solutions (VMMS), dramatically increase UPS efficiency up to 99% without sacrificing reliability of the system and reducing energy costs.

The operating costs of heating, air conditioning and ventilation plants can be reduced by improved energy efficiency gained by the use of variable speed drives. Variable speed drives also enable more controllability which leads to more effective use of the whole infrastructure and can further reduce energy consumption.
